THE GRIT STORY
ABOUT US
GRIT Baseball Company is a small family-owned business based in Flowery Branch, GA. Our company originated in 2020, while I was fighting for my life in the hospital with COVID-19. After winning the battle and recovered in the hospital for a week I had thoughts of starting my own business. I wanted to start an apparel brand with motivation behind my designs.
INSPIRATION OF T-SHIRT DESIGNS
After months of designing and selling t-shirts I decided to dabble in baseball designs. We are your typical "baseball family" that packs up the car on the weekends for travel baseball tournaments, and love our Atlanta Braves. However, we wanted to wear baseball related swag not necessarily tied to college or MLB teams. Our first designs were "Masks Required", which is inspired by our son Ben, who is a catcher. And the design "STFD", which is inspired by our other son Tyler, who is an intense pitcher, and currently plays for a JUCO in Alabama.
I collaborate with reputable graphic designers who are well-respected, and have credited designs with Fanatics, MLB, NFL, WWE, UFC, and other lifestyle brands. If I can not design it myself I share my visions with them and they bring it to life!
WHAT IS GRIT?
Not everyone has GRIT, it is a deep personal choice athletes learn. It's a self test of intestinal fortitude and mental toughness. I see a lot of "boutique" athletes today who are robotic. Great mechanics, great swing, great footwork, strong arms, and fast. However, they do not have "GRIT." They get to college or the pros and don't last long because they do not know how to push themselves beyond their limits, and can't handle the pressure. Players with GRIT win. These are the players I want playing for me, these are the players I want surrounding my kids because it pushes them. These are the employees I want working for me.
CUSTOM GLOVES, DESIGN, CRAFTSMANSHIP, AND QUALITY
We had no intentions in offering custom gloves and batting gloves. I was asked many times to look into these items because the current brands are so expensive, and have to wait a long time (7+ weeks) for custom gloves. I decided to research this because I have an a long background and experience in manufacturing and high level sales. High quality standards also come with my background because my reputation is on the line for every widget I have sold to customers in my 25 plus year career. After a year of vetting manufacturers, field testing gloves, interviewing leather experts, weather testing, heat and cold testing, and implementing what I feel are strict quality requirements, we feel we have excellent sourcing partners in place. The only downfall at this point is adding a glove customizer to our website. This feature will be implemented in 2025!
Our business has quickly evolved into a high quality custom glove maker at affordable prices. We feel baseball and softball should be accessible to EVERYBODY, no matter their economic situation. Baseball is America's Pastime, not America's profit.

I am blessed to be alive since my battle with Covid in 2020. I am blessed to be able to see my oldest son play college baseball . I am blessed to have a younger son because I can continue the precious moments on the baseball field until he makes his life choices after high school. I am especially blessed for my wife, who stands beside me through thick and thin. I definitely hit a grand slam home run by marrying her.
GRIT has something for everybody. I'm still learning this, I'm sure the brand will continue to evolve, I'm sure the designs with evolve. Our niche is baseball related products at affordable prices.
